As the weather begins warm up, join us as we spring into spring with a story! Everyone is invited to take a comfortable stroll at the refuge while following the pages of a children's storybook. Additionally, a librarian from Carver County Library will be onsite to share information about the summer reading program. All ages are welcome.
There is no registration for this event. The story stroll begins outside the Rapids Lake Education and Visitor Center. The Story Stroll is easy active and at-your-own pace. Comfortable and weather appropriate clothing and shoes are recommended.
Accessibility at the Rapids Lake Visitor Center:
Restrooms, a water fountain and a water bottle filler are available inside the visitor center. There is an outdoor restroom, but no outdoor water fountains. There is dedicated handicap parking available. The story stroll will be along the paved portion of the Rapids Lake Trail that does have a slight downward slope. It is a 0.1-0.2 mile walk to get to the trailhead from the parking lot. There are no rest areas along the trails, but benches and seating options are present inside and outside the visitor center.
