IWHS Charger Cheer Tryouts

2026–27 Tryout Information

Tryout Day
Wear non-distracting athletic clothing (with no team affiliation), tennis shoes, and hair up/out of your face. During the first half of tryouts, candidates will learn a 4–8 count dance, a sideline cheer, and the first half of “Loyalty” (school song) to assess how quickly skills are learned. After a 1-hour lunch break, candidates will perform in groups of 2–3 but be scored individually. The team will be announced at 5:00 PM on Illini West Cheer Facebook and Instagram.
