                "description": "American Legion Post 597 was chartered on March 15, 1947.  We are located in Historic Downtown Carrollton, Texas.  We have a membership of upwards of three hundred Legionnaires. In addition, American Legion Post 597 partners with affiliated organizations including The American Legion Auxiliary, The Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Riders. The Post is one of the largest and fastest-growing American Legion Posts in North Texas and serves a large communityin Dallas and Denton counties.  Each year, we conduct numerous programs that benefit local veterans, their families, and the community.
