The Chakchiuma Chapter NSDAR, in partnership with DAR chapters across the region, invites you to a day of history, music, and fun at the beautiful Cotesworth Cultural and Heritage Center in Carrollton, Mississippi.

Program Highlights

The day kicks off at 10:00 AM with a formal opening ceremony, including an invocation by State Chapter Chaplain Beth Duncan, the SAR Color Guard, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem by local veterans, and remarks from our chapter leadership and sponsors.

Throughout the morning and afternoon, enjoy a variety of entertainment: an interpretive dance of “God Bless America” by Betty Aden, dance instruction by Ethan Samsel, musical performance by the Winona Band, storytelling, a Paint & Sing demonstration with Belinda Duke, a piccolo and drum duet with Judith Brown and David McCaulla, and a dramatic portrayal of Patrick Henry by Mr. Rush. The celebration concludes at 3:00 PM.

Living history demonstrations will be ongoing all day. Watch skilled artisans demonstrate crochet, caning, embroidery, chicken scratch, spinning, quilting, and blacksmithing.

Shuttle Service from Greenwood

Need a ride? Debbie Oxnam is organizing a round‑trip shuttle from Greenwood to Cotesworth for $20. Contact a Chakchiuma Chapter officer to reserve your spot or for departure location details.
