Bates Beach Church of the Wild

This Sunday August 3, we will visit Bates Beach to celebrate the energy of summer in the outdoors. Join us for a special morning at Bates Beach. We’ll gather atop the bluff to determine whether to stay there or walk to the shoreline based on mobility.

Linger for beach potluck picnic lunch after.

Bring to this gathering your own stories of times you've had a particularly powerful connection to nature, and how that affected you. Plus practicalities like: sunblock, water, nibbles to share, blankets or chairs to sit on.

Directions: Rincon Beach Park, Via Real, Carpinteria map. Rincon Beach Park is 3 miles east of Carpinteria adjacent to the Santa Barbara/Ventura county line. From Highway 101 take the Bates Road turn-off south to the park entrance. Park and find us at the base of the ramp down from the public restroom area.

Accessibility: We will gather at the base of the ramp from the public restroom. (RSVP to let us know other accessibility needs).
