Coalition Against Gun Violence Press Conference #SCSafe
Please join with us to insure our Legislature vote for the best interests of our children, along with the S.C. Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatricians, Arm-in-Arm, the Safe Schools Project, the Brady Campaign, the Faith Coalition Against Gun Violence, Building Better Communities, the South Carolina Christian Action Council, March For Our Lives Rally, Lowcountry Students for Political Action, Love Thy Neighbor, S.C. Chapter of P.O.S.T. (Protect Our Stolen Treasures), OFA Central Midlands, and Greater Columbia Action Together as we join together on the anniversary of the horrific mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida to advocate for the safety of South Carolina’s children.
We will gather between the House and Senate chambers on the second floor lobby, in support of legislation to help keep our schools and the young people of our state safe from harm.
Representative Wendy Brawley has introduced bills H3109 and H3206 to put school resource officers in every school and to restrict & define the sale of high capacity magazines and bump stocks. The bills are available in their entirety for review at www.scstatehouse.gov
If your organization would like to be a publicized member of this coalition, and co-host for this event, please comment on this event by February 1, 2019 to be included in any printed materials.
We look forward to a large showing of the community that cares about this critically important issue! Policymakers need to reject the overtures of special interests and stand up for the lives of our teachers and our children before there is a massacre in South Carolina. Join with us to insure our Legislature vote for the best interests of our children.
