Come hear music based on Renaissance forms, both historical and modern. As with the standard jazz progression known as the 12 bar blues, musicians in the Renaissance had a variety of chord patterns and repeating bass lines over which they would improvise or compose new works. Perhaps the most well known of these is Pachelbel's famous Kanon in D.) However, there were many more, including the chaconne, bergamasca, follia and so forth. We look forward to sharing with you a variety of these, along with some Christmas carols inspired by earlier forms and the Mass on Renaissance Basses by Jefferson M. DeMarco.

When: Saturday and Sunday, January 10 and 11, 2026 at 2:30pm

Where: All Saints Episcopal Church, Dolores & 9th Ave in Carmel
