Museum Shop Sunday is exactly what it sounds like, a day every year in the run up to Christmas to support your local museum shop, which in turn supports your local museum and helps contribute to its future.
We’re especially excited to be taking part this year as we’ve got a brand new shop!
As well as all the usual lovely product ranges, we’ll be joined by local crafters and suppliers, including:
Gabrielle Walden from Blackberry Stone Ceramics will be giving our visitors a chance to decorate their own ceramic bowl and talking to them about the techniques used to create our bespoke range of fern inspired ceramics.
Richard Francis from Northern Spirits distilling, will be offering tastings and talking about his Cocidius Rum. The rum takes its name from a local pre-Roman god and is hand-crafted, just five minutes from the museum.
Tullie volunteer John Mather will give a talk on his new book Discover Carlisle: Walking Through the City’s History (also available in the shop!).
Solway Spirits, manufacturers of the bespoke Tullie gin will be doing tastings.
And for children, we’ll have a lucky dip treasure pit.
More information coming soon. All free to attend.
