- **Event Description**: To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ralph Vaughan Williams we will celebrate in music the journey his music helps us take from the folk music of the local pub to the well-loved hymns of our worship.

This unique concert features two folk groups – Broomdasher and Coracle – performing alongside the Cathedral Choir and Organ taking the audience on a musical journey, starting with the folk song, going through dance variations and climaxing with everyone raising the roof with full-blooded renditions of the hymns. They include "To Be a Pilgrim", "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" which will be musically transformed from the folk songs "Our Captain Calls," "The Ploughboy's Dream" and "The Murder of Maria Marten." 

Before the concert there is also the opportunity to join the musicians for a pre-concert talk and drinks reception in the Fratry Hall (6.30pm).

Talk, Reception and Concert: £15.00 (starts at 6.30pm)
Concert only: £10.00 (starts at 7.30pm)
16-18yo: £5.00
