“The Florida Highwaymen: Art Innovators in a Civil Rights Epoch”
In 1955 a group of 26 African American landscape artists in Florida taught themselves how to paint and made a living selling door-to-door to businesses and individuals. No Art Gallery would allow them entry during this 'Jim Crow' era.
In this class we will learn about them, recreate and complete 3 of their paintings with acrylic paint (they used oils).
This is geared to beginner level with lessons on how to use the brushes they used, etc.
Cost $100 - includes everything you need to paint.
