- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 07 Nov, 2026 at 09:30 am – Sun, 08 Nov, 2026 at 05:00 pm (+00:00)
- **Event Description**: The anatomy course many practitioners wish they had taken at the start of their journey.About this EventThe Anatomy of MovementLearn to see movement more clearly, understand the anatomy behind it, and apply that knowledge with greater confidence in assessment, treatment, exercise and teaching.A three-weekend professional training for manual therapists, Pilates teachers, yoga teachers, personal trainers and other movement professionals.Moving Beyond Clinical AnatomySee Movement More Clearly. Assess More Accurately. Treat With Greater Confidence.Do you know anatomy but sometimes struggle to see it in movement?Does textbook knowledge feel disconnected from the person standing in front of you?Would you like to assess, treat, teach and create exercise with greater confidence—without relying on memorised protocols?Who Is This Training For?This training is designed for manual therapists, Pilates teachers, yoga teachers, personal trainers and other movement professionals who want to understand anatomy more deeply and apply it more confidently to the people they work with.It is particularly valuable if you already know some anatomy but find it difficult to translate textbook knowledge into movement observation, assessment, treatment or exercise. Most anatomy education provides valuable information about structures, attachments and actions. Yet knowing the parts does not automatically teach us how to understand the living, moving person in front of us.This training bridges that gap.Rather than teaching anatomy as a collection of isolated facts, we explore it as a dynamic whole that explains how and why humans move. You will develop a practical framework that helps you understand movement, solve practical problems, and confidently create interventions tailored to each individual.3 Weekends - 7-8 November 2026, 5 -6 December 2026, and 23-24 January 2027Weekend One — Learn to See MovementBuild the framework: whole-body movement, anatomical language, forces and movement analysis.Weekend Two — Understand the Lower BodyApply the framework to the pelvis, hip, knee, ankle and foot.Weekend Three — Integrate the Whole BodyExplore the trunk and shoulder complex and bring the complete movement-analysis framework together. The three-weekend format gives you time to apply the ideas in your own practice between sessions. Suggested observations, practical projects and ongoing discussion help turn each weekend into an active learning process rather than an isolated course.Six days of in-person professional training across three weekends — £695Deposit/payment option availableThe Aim of the TrainingThe aim is to make anatomy genuinely useful: to develop your movement observation and reasoning, improve the way you assess and teach movement, and give you the confidence to work beyond textbook examples and predetermined protocols.Over three immersive weekends, you will learn to:Understand why humans are built and move the way they do.Become fluent in the language of anatomy and movement.Observe and analyse movement with greater accuracy and confidence.Understand how structure, gravity, momentum and reaction forces interact.Learn how changing position can reveal useful and repeatable movement responses.Apply the framework to assessment, treatment, exercise and teaching. Why Is This Course Different? This is not another system, protocol or collection of exercises to memorise.Instead, you will develop a framework for understanding movement that can be applied to whatever approach you already use.We begin with the whole moving person and then work towards the anatomical detail. This changes the way anatomy is learnt: bones, joints, muscles and connective tissues become explanations for movement rather than isolated facts to remember. The result is anatomy that becomes easier to understand, easier to retain and, most importantly, easier to use.A Different Way of Learning AnatomyInstead of beginning with isolated structures and working outward, we begin with the whole body and gradually move into greater detail.By understanding the larger patterns first, the details become easier to understand, remember, and apply.Drawing from multiple anatomical disciplines, we will explore:Evolutionary anatomy – understanding why humans are built the way they are and how our evolutionary history influences movement.Developmental anatomy – exploring how the body organises itself throughout growth and development.Comparative anatomy – using comparisons with other species to reveal the principles that shape human structure and function.Functional anatomy – understanding how bones, joints, fascia, muscles, and connective tissues work together to create efficient movement. This three-weekend training is designed for movement and manual therapists who want to understand anatomy more deeply, analyse movement more effectively, and gain greater confidence in professional reasoning, movement analysis and professional reasoning where appropriate..Rather than teaching a fixed method or proprietary system, this course provides a practical framework that can be applied to any assessment, treatment approach, or movement practice.By the End of the Training You Will:Understand why humans move the way they do.Be fluent in the language of anatomy and movement.Analyse movement with greater accuracy and confidence.Understand how changes in position influence movement, load and tissue response.Create more precise assessments, treatments, and exercise programmes.Position clients in ways that produce predictable and measurable movement responses.Describe and explain movement clearly using a logical and practical framework.See anatomy as an integrated whole rather than a collection of disconnected parts. Most importantly, you will leave with a practical framework for understanding movement that you can continue to develop and apply throughout your professional practice.Fee includes:six teaching days;course notes;between-weekend learning material;Q&A/support;certificate/CPD hours;parking;tea/coffee if included.Agenda🕑: 09:30 AM - 05:00 PMWeekend One—Learn to See Movement 7-8 November 2026Info: The course develops progressively across three weekends: first learning how to see and describe movement, then applying that framework to the lower body, and finally integrating those principles across the whole body.
The first weekend establishes the foundations for all that follows. You will develop a practical framework for understanding movement and learn how anatomical language can become a powerful tool for observation, analysis, and problem-solving.
Topics include:
Human architecture: where we came from and why it matters.
The language of anatomy and movement made practical and immediately useful.
Understanding where concepts such as tensegrity can—and cannot—help us describe human anatom
Understanding the role of forces in human movement.
Moving beyond isolated muscle actions to appreciate whole-body organisation.
Creating predictable and assessable movement responses through client positioning.
Applying these principles to assessment, exercise design, and problem solving..🕑: 09:30 AM - 05:00 PMWeekend Two — Understand the Lower Body 5-6 December 2026Info: With the foundations in place, we apply the framework to the pelvis and lower limb, exploring how structure, movement and force interact during locomotion.
This weekend examines how bones, joints, fascia, and muscles work together to produce coordinated movement throughout the lower body.
Topics include:
Functional anatomy of the pelvis, hip, knee, ankle, and foot.
Muscle-fascial interactions and their role in efficient movement.
Force transfer through the lower limb.
Structural adaptations and their relationship to function.
Whole-body integration of lower-limb mechanics.
Applying anatomical understanding to movement assessment and exercise design.
Outcome:
By the end of Weekend Two, you will understand how the lower body contributes to whole-body movement and be able to assess lower-limb function with greater precision.🕑: 09:30 AM - 05:00 PMWeekend Three— Integrate the Whole Body 23-24 January 2027Info: The trunk and shoulder complex are often presented as complicated and difficult to understand. In reality, they follow many of the same organisational principles explored throughout the course.
The final weekend brings those principles together so that you can apply the same reasoning across the whole body.
You will learn to recognise recurring movement patterns, understand why they exist, and apply your anatomical knowledge to analyse movement in real time.
Topics include:
Functional anatomy of the trunk and shoulder complex.
Understanding recurring movement patterns throughout the body.
Analysing force transfer between the upper and lower body.
Applying anatomical principles to complex movements.
Developing confidence in movement observation and analysis.
Integrating the full-body framework into clinical practice.
Suggested reading, practical projects, and ongoing opportunities for questions and discussion will support your learning between weekends.
