About the event

Responding to a cyber-attack: best practice & guidance for senior leaders
Join us for an interactive workshop led by industry specialists Bridewell, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

About this Event

Cyber-attacks are becoming more sophisticated, frequent and intense. They are not always targeted, but can affect any organisation, of any size. Recent high-profile cyber incidents demonstrate the serious consequences of attacks, including significant disruption to business operations and damage to profit. By planning for the worst and rehearsing your approach to a cyber-attack, your organisation is more likely to respond and recover faster.

Capital Law is hosting a free event in collaboration with industry specialists Bridewell and the Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales, focused on helping senior leaders become more prepared and confident in responding to cyber-attacks.

Please note that this event is not technical but specifically designed to consider practical, legal and regulatory implications for senior leaders and board members.

Agenda

9:00 – 9:30 – Coffee and welcome

9:30 – 11:45 – Workshop led by Bridewell

11:45 – 12:00 – Coffee break

12:00 – 13:00 – Panel session

The workshop

Bridewell will take you through an immersive cyber-attack simulation using a true to life scenario. Working in groups, you will be asked to consider how you would respond at different stages during the attack. What are your key priorities? How can you mitigate the potential damage? What are the obligations on your organisation?

The exercise will be facilitated by industry professionals, to provide insight and guidance on best practice.

The panel

This interactive panel session will offer you the opportunity to ask questions about the cyber-attack you have worked through and to benefit from key industry insights and advice.

The panel will be chaired by Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales and will feature the following individuals:

  • James John, Incident Response Manager at Bridewell
  • Carrie Jones, Principal Associate at Capital Law
  • Emma Francis, Cyber Insurance at Thomas Carroll Brokers
  • Bethan Davies-Phillips, Lead Policy Officer at the Information Commissioners Office
  • Matthew Davies, Detective Inspector, Tarian Regional Organised Crime Unit
