It includes basic biology of cancer, how it develops and spreads, principles of SACT and its role in cancer treatment. Other key topics include safe handling and administration of SACT, toxicities of treatment and management of SACT emergencies such as extravasation, spillage and SACT related infusion and injection reactions.You must attend all days to complete the course.Why complete this course?This course will assist those involved in the care of patients receiving systemic treatments develop their knowledge, skills, confidence and competence. It will also be of benefit to individuals who are completing the UKONS Digital SACT Passport as the content relates to different theoretical sections of the passport.Who should complete this course?This course is designed for all those registered and unregistered healthcare professionals new to the field of systemic anti-cancer therapy who wish to develop their knowledge and skills of this complex area of cancer treatment.Course Delivery MethodThis course is delivered as a face-to-face workshop. Any repurposing of certificates will be regarding as fraudulent activity.In an occasion whereby the Oncology Academy has to postpone an event, your booking will be transferred to the new date and you will be contacted accordingly. You will retain the right to cancel your place should you be unable to attend.The Oncology Academy reserves the right to cancel events due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case full refunds will be issued.For reasons beyond the control of The Academy, the way we deliver an event may have to alter to accommodate strict social distancing guidelines or adhere to government guidelines.
