Greetings Illinois TRIO!

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is excited to host Illinois Trio’s  Annual Student Leadership Conference. This year’s conference focuses on developing the next generation of leaders. Our conference theme is: “Creating Lasting Bonds with Synergy and Solidarity.”

The goal of the conference is to:

Develop and strengthen leadership skills by teaching students how to engage in critical dialogues;

Build and maintain relationships with other student leaders;

Empower students to connect, articulate and leverage experiences for educational and career success.

Breakout session topics include: mentorship, motivation, networking, money management, emotional intelligence, and educational and career exploration. The conference offers interactive workshops, student panels, Ted Talk style presentations, and roundtable discussions.  Registration opens April 15th and concludes on Monday, June 3, 2019.

Option #3 (Single Room Registration w/Lodging for 2 nights PER person) $235

Option #4 (Single Room Registration w/Lodging for 1 night PER person) $165

-includes lodging, linen, 3 meals, conference activities and materials

Option #5 (Registration only, no lodging PER person) $125

-includes 2 meals (Sat. lunch and banquet), conference activities and materials

All full registration payments must be received within 30 days of receiving the invoice from the treasurer.  There will be no on-site registration.


Registration fees paid in advance are refundable in the following manner:

Written notice of cancellation must be received between the dates of April 15 and May 24, 2019, in order to be refunded 100% of total registration fees paid.  Any written cancellations received between May 25 and June 7, 2019, will be refunded 50% of total registration fees paid. ALL refunds will be processed within 30 days concluding the event.

There will be no refund eligibility after June 7, 2019.  Paid registrations resulting in a “no show/no contact” will also not be eligible for a refund.

The conference begins on Friday, June 14th with registration opening at 4pm in the Student Center Corker Lounge. Conference attendees will have lodging in Schneider Hall. Attendees must have adult supervision registered from their respective programs.  During registration, program staff will pick up conference packets, dinner meal cards and room keys. At check-in, programs can decide whether to bus participants back to campus for conference activities. Schneider Hall is approximately 10 minutes or .25 miles from the Student Center.

The first event of the evening begins in the Student Center Bowling Alley from 5pm-7pm. Bring your “A” game. We also encourage all program participants and staff to wear t-shirts that represent their program. The fun doesn’t stop there! After the bowling event, we travel upstairs for our official kick-off and welcome.
