We are excited to take you on this 5-day FUN Overland Tour into the heart of the Tankwa Karoo! We have explored this area for many years and its stunning scenery makes us return regularly. We will guide you to incredible viewpoints with views over the valleys and thousands of hectares of beautiful and unforgettable scenery.
We have created an off-the-beaten track, off-road tour on gravel, twee-spoor, mountain, and sand tracks. You will need a 4x4 or 4x2 high clearance vehicle and the tour is suitable for an off-road camping trailer. All the campsites are rustic with one or two that are wild camps with no facilities. We have selected camp sites that we have visited many times and included some of our “secret” sites.
We will leave early morning from Clanwilliam, from where we will soon get our vehicles off the tar and onto gravel. The tour is about 900 kilometres in total (Cape Town and back) through the main parts of the Tankwa Karoo areas and ends four days later in Ceres. We will visit two nature reserves and enjoy the incredible views of the Karoo. There are many hidden gems and we will attempt to visit most of them.
The tour is self-catering, but we will propose a menu closer to the time. You will need to bring your own firewood for the first few days. There are not very many opportunities to buy food or groceries, so stock up for the entire trip
