We walk to show that recovery from addiction and mental illness in all its forms.

We are a lived reality in millions of people’s lives here in Cape Town and throughout the world.

We walk to show that we are real people who exemplify a diversity of recovery solutions.

We walk to counter the shame and stigma and to challenge any public attempt to dehumanise, objectify and demonise people with addictions and mental illnesses in all their forms.

We walk to celebrate our own and others recoveries, to recognise the people who work within the fields of addiction treatment and mental health, and to show our solidarity with international recovery movements
