About the workshop:
Experience the beauty of Sashiko, a traditional Japanese hand-stitching technique known for its simple running stitches and striking geometric patterns. This mindful, slow-stitching practice combines functionality with artistry, creating timeless designs that celebrate imperfection, rhythm, and repetition.

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through the basics of Sashiko stitching, learning how to mark patterns, create even stitches, and develop a steady, meditative flow. You’ll complete a small stitched piece useful as a pot stand, set of coasters, journal cover or a bookmark, to take home.

What you’ll learn:
A brief history and philosophy of Sashiko.
Tools and materials used in traditional and modern Sashiko.
How to mark fabric and follow classic geometric patterns.
Proper stitching technique for neat, even stitches.
