Leon Kluge’s Gold-Award winning 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show Display will be recreated in Stanford, Western Cape as part of the Stanford in Bloom spring festival. The display is a celebration of the diversity of fynbos in the Cape Floral Kingdom, showcasing the beauty of coastal and mountain fynbos, alongside a unique collection of botanical artworks from the Grootbos Florilegium never before exhibited in Stanford.

South Africa won Gold at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025 under the leadership of landscape designer, Leon Kluge, and artist-gardener, Tristan Woudberg. Now, this display is coming home to South Africa in Stanford. The display showcases the influences of the two oceans, namely the Indian and the Atlantic, on the flora of South Africa. A canyon of tannin-rich amber water cuts through a mountain of fynbos. A diversity of fynbos cut flowers rise up to the edge of the cliffs before giving way to waterfalls filled with cliff-dwelling plants. A woven sculptural piece which takes inspiration from cultural traditions represents South Africa’s floral kingdom as the flower basket of Africa.

Alongside this display will be a collection of botanical artwork from the Grootbos Florilegium, featuring fynbos plants from the region. Immerse yourself in the glory of the Cape Floral Kingdom, through this floral display and the expert story-telling of the Grootbos Foundation team. All profits from Chelsea Flowers in Stanford go towards Grootbos Foundation.
