- **Event Description**: We are delighted to welcome South African organist Dr. Isabelle van Rensburg to perform an organ recital on October 11, at 6:30 p.m. on our Ortloff, Opus 3 Organ. 

Her program will include works by Marchand, Bach, Widor, Tariverdiev, and South African composers Henk Temmingh and Theo van Wyk. 

Admission is free, but donations are encouraged to support the concert and Music Ministries of St. Alban’s. 

Isabelle van Rensburg, an accomplished organist and dedicated educator, hails from South Africa. Her journey with the organ began during her high school years, ultimately leading her to earn a Doctor of Music in Performing Arts from the University of Pretoria (UP) in 2021, under the mentorship of Professors Wim Viljoen and Theo van Wyk. Her academic career also includes a Bachelor of Music in Performance, obtained in 2007, and a Master of Music in Performing Arts in 2012, both from UP. Additionally, she earned a Performance Licentiate in Music in 2008 and a Teacher’s Licentiate in Music in 2009, both awarded by the University of South Africa (UNISA). Isabelle's training has been further enriched through her active participation in masterclasses conducted by esteemed international organists such as Arvid Gast, Ben van Oosten, Gordon Stewart, Leo van Doeselaar, Liesbeth Schumberger, Lorenzo Ghielmi, Olivier Penin, Olivier Latry, Paul Jacobs, Reitze Smits, William Whitehead, and Wolfgang Zerer.
 
Isabelle's musical journey has taken her across borders, with notable performances at iconic venues such as St. Clotilde Cathedral in France, St. Bavo Church and St. Bavo Cathedral in the Netherlands, and the First United Methodist Church in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States. These performances were part of esteemed events such as the Masterclass César Franck, the Haarlem International Organ Festival, and the Bach Oregon Festival, respectively.

Currently, Isabelle serves as the organist at the Dutch Reformed Church Universiteitsoord in Pretoria and is one of the University Organists at UNISA. Alongside her performance commitments, she runs her own academy, specializing in organ and music theory. Isabelle also contributes her expertise to the field as a member of the Executive Committee of SAKOV, where she serves as vice-chair and dedicates herself to the promotion of organ music and education.
