Exploring the Future of Plastics: Public talk by Shaw Institute’s Charles Rolsky

Charles Rolsky, Executive Director and Senior Research Scientist at the Shaw Institute will give a talk exploring how science is shaping the future of plastics at 7PM on October 20th at St
Alban's Gallery in Cape Elizabeth. The event is part of an art exhibition, “Forever Ours: Micro Plastics & PFAS. Charles Rolsky will give his informative talk exploring cutting edge research on plastics from environmental impacts to the development of more sustainable materials.

The setting for his talk at the St Alban's Gallery features the work of 15 environmental artists with a diverse range of provocative artworks centered on the topic. The exhibit presents visual and mixed-media works that reflect on the evolving relationship between people, the environment, and persistent materials like PFAS and plastics. While the exhibit invites personal and creative interpretation, Rolsky’s talk will provide a grounded scientific perspective on how
to move forward.

The engaging evening combining science, innovation, and artistic reflection is free and open to the public.

Forever Ours: PFAS and Plastics Art Exhibit is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9:00
AM – 4:00 PM, and runs through October 23.
