Founded in 2012, The Arc Connecticut Family Network (formerly Families for Families) was created to give families a united voice — within the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), at the Capitol, and across their local communities. The network brings families together to share information, collaborate on local and statewide issues, and connect directly with lawmakers and Connecticut’s federal delegation.

Under the leadership of Danielle Middlebrooks, The Arc Connecticut’s Director of Advocacy, the Family Network is building on this foundation and taking it further — deepening community engagement, amplifying family voices across all eight counties, and expanding training and advocacy opportunities.

What We Do:

Host monthly hybrid meetings in each county to share resources, solutions, and updates.

Keep families informed about opportunities for advocacy and support statewide.

Offer training and preparation for the annual legislative session and other key advocacy moments.

Build lasting connections and empower families to take action together.

The Arc Connecticut Family Network continues to mobilize thousands of families and individuals with IDD to protect and strengthen the private system of supports — advancing policies that promote inclusion, equity, and dignity for all.
