- **Event Description**: Join The 3 Foragers as they share some of the secrets of the fungal world and teach you how to safely identify wild mushrooms using various available tools and techniques. You'll learn how to use your senses to examine mushrooms for their sights, smells, and tastes, and consider the relationships between fungi and the natural world around us. We will dispel common myths, and discuss mycophagy, the cooking and eating of wild mushrooms.

By this time of the summer, if it has been raining, mushrooms will be popping up all over Connecticut—in your lawn, in the woods, seemingly everywhere! In this presentation we will show you how to examine the features of mushrooms and use resources to identify them safely. Space may be limited so register by calling 860-546-9022.

The 3 Foragers are a family from southeastern Connecticut who have been identifying, photographing, and cooking with the edible plants and fungi of New England for more than 21 years. Their blog, Facebook page, and book all focus on family-friendly, environmentally sustainable harvest of both our native and invasive species of plants, and ways to incorporate these foods into your diet with original recipes.
