Step into the winter calm of Goodnestone Park Gardens, where ancient trees, frost-touched paths and the soft quiet of the Kent countryside invite you to slow down and create in peaceful seasonal beauty.

Your workshop begins in The Coach House, where your tutor, Rachel, will introduce you to the art of linocut with a live demonstration. Then, drawing inspiration from the garden, will guide you through the foliage and flora that shine in winter - evergreens, seed heads, textured branches and the muted palette of the season.

Guided step by step, you’ll sketch, plan and transfer your design before carving, inking and hand-printing your linocut greetings cards (approx. 15 × 10 cm / 6 × 4 in). Whether you choose your own composition or work from one of our seasonal templates, you’ll create a piece that captures the beauty of the season and take home a reusable printing tile to continue exploring the process.

A delicious lunch, freshly prepared by The Old Dairy Café, is included in the day, along with refreshments throughout the day. 

All materials and equipment are provided. Please bring along an apron or painting shirt and a sketchbook with pencils.

Meet your tutor, Rachel Moore, a professional Kent-based artist and printmaker with over a decade of experience in guiding both children and adults through the artistic process. She has run workshops for a diverse range of clients, from the National Trust to Spotify. Rachel likes to demystify printmaking techniques so you’ll feel confident to carry on printing at home.
