Excel Advanced (1 day)
The course is intended to provide learners with the confidence and ability to use a wide range of Excel features to get the most out of a complex and powerful tool.
Learners will create calculations, use functions and formula, create dynamic charts and graphs, analyse data, use Pivot Tables, work with multiple worksheets, link files and data, use lookup functions and learn lots of tips, tricks and shortcuts before completing assessments to gain a nationally recognized qualification.
The course offers great skills to learners of all backgrounds and job role and will focus on hands on skills to maximize the learning experience.
Who is it for?
This course is for learners who have some familiarity with Excel and re comfortable entering and editing data, creating basic formulae and calculations and are familiar with features such as AutoSum and the filter tools.
You will gain the following skills
Creating partial absolute references and other tricks for maximum formula flexibility
Using worksheet names to simply and futureproof your formulas
Using Data Validation for live updates and to validate existing data
Using advanced decision making functions – making the most of AND, OR and IF
Advanced Conditional Formatting – creating custom conditions and formatting entire rows
Using error checking functions – IFERROR, ISERROR, IFNA
Using Formula Auditing to trace errors and incorrect inputs
Analysis tools – subtotals, scenarios, outlines
Cross referencing data using lookup functions – VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX and MATCH
Simple dashboards – using form controls, slicers and Pivot Chart
Creating simple macros to automate repetitive tasks
