Canterbury Shakespeare Festival : Auditions 2019

Canterbury Shakespeare Festival : Auditions 2019

Canterbury Shakespeare Festival are holding AUDITIONS for their fifth year of shows!

DATE: 23rd and 24th of February
TIME: 12:00-16:00
LOCATION: Pilgrims Hotel, 18 The Friars, CT1 2AS

Before turning up we recommend filling out this form below for an easier process as we will be able to just direct you to the shows you are interested in auditioning for. You are, of course, able to just show up during the above stated times but we will ask you to complete these forms on the door.

**Disclaimer: Please note these auditions are only for members of the public ages 18+**

This is an open audition in which all the directors will be present.

The format of auditions will be like a drop-in session.

You can come by at any point between 12:00-16:00 on either of the days and audition for the shows you have selected.

You will most likely be given either a monologue or a scene to do with other people auditioning.

You do not need to prepare anything prior to your audition. However, we recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and bring water.

If the directors need to see more of you, they may ask to see you at another time (either on the Sunday, if they have seen you on Saturday, or at a pre-arranged time soon after auditions). Most auditions will only be on these two days.

If you are unable to make the auditions but still wish to take part then please email us as aW5mbyB8IGNhbnRlcmJ1cnlzaGFrZXNwZWFyZSAhIGNvICEgdWs= to arrange something else. We accept video auditions and you will be provided with monologues by the directors of the shows that you wish to audition for. The deadline to have these videos emailed (or shared with us in some form) is by Saturday 23rd February.

The lineup for this year's festival will be as follows:

Hamlet - Directed by Elliot Huxtable

The Merry Wives of Windsor - Directed by Eleanor Sutcliffe

Timon of Athens - Directed by Caitlin Fox

Lear - Directed by Mabel Chambers

Mary Stuart - Directed by Ollie Graveson and Andrew Wilson
