- **Event Description**: Join us for a glide on the water under the moonlight. We’ll gather at the Wabasis Lake boat launch for a short club gathering and launch as the sun sets. Once on the water, we’ll stay together and paddle a relaxed circuit on the lake. Expect about a two-hour paddle at a comfortable group pace.

Before launching, we’ll have a short club meeting along with snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. It’s a good chance to catch up with other paddlers before heading out under the full moon.

6:00 PM —  Social Time

6:30 PM —  Club Meeting
7:30 PM — Launch (around sunset)

- What to Bring

Kayak 

Paddle

Type III PFD (must be worn at all times on the water)

Sprayskirt (recommended for kayaks)

- Water

Appropriate clothing for evening temperatures

Navigation or safety lights

Whistle attached to your PFD

Bilge pump

Basic safety gear

- Lighting

Because we’ll be paddling after dark, proper lighting is important. We recommend:

Glow sticks or small lights on the front and back of your boat

A headlamp for seeing gear and signaling

- Safety

 This paddle is intended for paddlers comfortable with open water and basic boat control.  

You are responsible for your own safety and decisions on the water.

PFDs must be worn at all times.

No drugs or alcohol before launch or during the paddle.

Stay with the group and within sight of other paddlers.

Dress for the water temperature, not the air temperature. Even in the fall, lake water can be cold.

If you are new to night paddling, please let an organizer know before launch.
