On International Women’s Day, I’m running the Safe Marathon (Any Distance), a virtual race to highlight the lack of safe access to public spaces that women runners around the world experience The Safe Marathon is not about distance or athletic ability; it is about raising awareness that many girls and young women globally are not free to run, and about highlighting the measures women take to feel safe Everyone deserves the freedom to run.
