New this year, step into a 100-foot neon-lit tunnel pulsing with vibrant, dynamic lights. Wander freely, interact with the installation, and create waves of colour as you walk through an immersive journey into the New Year. This warm, sensory experience is accessible for all ages.

⛸️ Ring it in at the Rink ?

? Tuesday, Dec. 31 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Canmore Recreation Centre

Join us at the Canmore Recreation Centre for a free, all-ages evening of fun featuring fireside local music, an Indigenous fashion show, DJ dance party, free public ice skating, marshmallow roasting, food vendors, and more!

Please bring your own skates — rentals will not be available. All skaters ages 12 and younger must wear a CSA-certified helmet to access the ice. If you have a helmet at home, please bring it.

Costume challenge: Help us give a big, brilliant welcome to 2026. Dress up in something that sparkles, glows, or shines. Upcycling your outfit? Even better!

Please note: There will be no fireworks for New Year's Eve.

? Indigenous Fashion Show ?

? Dec. 31 from 6 - 7 p.m. at the light tunnel

On New Year's Eve, the light tunnel will temporarily transform into a runway for an Indigenous fashion show featuring drumming, dancing, and modelling of Stoney Nakoda designs.

Parking around the Canmore Recreation Centre will be extremely limited. We encourage all visitors and residents to either take free Roam public transportation, walk, bike or carpool with others.

This year for our New Year's Eve event, we're working towards making it zero waste! All drinks and food will be served in reusable containers. We're excited to be able to eliminate single-use waste from our New Year's Eve event as part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.
