It’s also a great chance to meet other young adults in the climbing community and potentially find future climbing partners to hit the wall with!During this two-hour session, certified instructors will guide participants through the essential skills needed to safely belay and top rope climb indoors. You’ll learn how to properly use a climbing harness, tie key climbing knots, belay with two common belay devices, and understand core indoor climbing safety procedures. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge needed to complete the Elevation Place Top Rope Belay Test.No prior climbing experience is required. This event is beginner-friendly and ideal for young adults looking to build confidence, learn a new skill, and try something active in a social setting.All climbing equipment is included, and course fees also include access to the climbing wall during (and after) class time.Please wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in and bring a water bottle.Accessibility The session takes place at Elevation Place Climbing Gym, Canmore’s indoor climbing facility, in a dynamic and active gym environment with moderate noise, bright lighting, and standing/movement throughout.This is a physically active event involving climbing, standing, and use of upper/lower body strength. Participants should be comfortable with heights and moderate physical exertion.
