West Papua Petition Presentation and March -Canberra
Join us in Canberra to present our petition demanding the government support West Papua at the 2019 UN General Assembly.
The www.decolonizewestpapua.com petition is being tabled in the senate on the 9th of September 2019. Please join us in solidarity with West Papua for a peaceful march to parliament in Canberra.
We will begin at 10am at the Netherlands Australia War Memorial in Sir Thomas Blamey Square, where we will have a brief opening ceremony acknowledging West Papua’s role in World War Two and historic relationship with the Netherlands.
From there we will march via the Aboriginal Embassy to Parliament House, where a moment of silence will be observed.
A press conference will commence in the Aussie courtyard at Parliament House at 12.30 pm. The press conference is open to the public, but if you are interested in attending please advise us by 05/09/2019 via direct message or by emailing ZnJ3cHdvbWVuc29mZmljZSB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t.
