- **Event Description**: An Australian First Nations and near-Pacific Composers GatheringAbout this EventYou are invited to attend The Gathering: a First Nation's Composition Gathering over two and a half days in late November. Celebrating Australia’s First Nation's composers and guests from the near Pacific, The Gathering will include cultural sharing and enrichment through composed and scored music performances, talks about experiences, and making new cultural and industry connections.This is an inclusive event, and open to all. We particularly encourage attendance from music scholars, music graduate students, Australian studies scholars, Indigenous studies scholars, and arts and culture workers.The conference begins on Thursday the 27th at 2pm, with a welcome dinner at 6pm. On the Friday and Saturday, the conference will take place 9.30am–5.30pm with concerts from 7.30pm.Ensemble Offspring and Ensemble 3 will be the main resident ensembles for The Gathering.
