She was an Assistant Commissioner in Southern Command, and her experience also spans general policing and investigative roles including Deputy Chief Police Officer of ACT, and leading teams in the Serious Financial Crime Taskforce.In 2023 Commissioner Barrett was recognised for her distinguished policing career with the Australian Police Medal.
