International Mens Day NOV 19TH 2025 .
The 4th annual Australian male's suicide visual presentation.
Each year our network of supporters and organisations join to lay down one shoe for each man or boy who is lost to suicide from the previous year.
This is a constant average of 2500 males each year. 1 every 3 hours 😢.
Our government has recently started a gendered approach to suicide prevention and research and funding is just starting to ripple into the grass roots networks and organisations. This is terrific 👏.
This is the beginning of change for our men and boys although our government still need to do 2 more things to make sure the growth of change continues and funding and direction continues to have a direct impact of change.
1. Implement a federal minister for men and boys health and welfare. NOT JUST A PORTFOLIO A DEDICATED OFFICE TO THE FUTURE OF MEN AND BOYS HEALTH AND WELFARE.
2. We ask for our Prime Minister to publicly acknowledge "SITUATIONAL DISTRESS SUICIDE" .
Predominantly males highest risk factors in suicide are "situational distress ".
1. Family and relationship breakdown with males being 8 times more likely to self harm during this period than any other person.
2.Loss of access to children. Loss of parental rights Including the rights of all family members linked to the father.
3. Court and financial issues.
Including loss of job.
None of these are diagnosable mental health conditions and our hospitals cannot treat these patients.
This is the missing link in male suicide and why males numbers have been 70% of all suicides for 40 years.
Its time for change.
Please give these souls a voice this International mens day #Australia #2500toomany.
