Aether Ensemble Presents: Songs of Women

Songs of Women celebrates the creative voices of women who have shaped the musical landscape through their unique contributions to the flute and piano repertoire.

This program brings together works by Miriam Hyde, Brenda Gifford, Louise Farrenc, Amy Beach, Jennifer Hankin, Keyna Wilkins, and Ros Bandt—a rich tapestry of music spanning centuries, continents, and styles. From romantic lyricism to contemporary experimentation, each composer offers a distinct perspective, revealing the expressive depth and versatility of these instruments.

Songs of Women invites audiences to listen with fresh ears—to experience a dialogue between past and present, and to celebrate the enduring artistry and innovation of women in music.
