About the event

Some Buddhist Techniques on How to Live Life Better
A four-part workshop with Theresa Baw!

About this Event

In this four-part course, Theresa will share, from her direct experience, the Buddhist ways that she has alleviated some of the suffering from her own life.

These include:

  • Mindfulness: The state of awareness that prevents you forgetting yourself.
  • Gratitude: The Buddha taught it is one of five rare treasures.
  • Parable of the Arrows: We can avoid the second arrow of our mental suffering caused by the self-inflicted reaction to the first arrow.
  • Parable of the Acrobats: We are interconnected, when looking after oneself one looks after others.
  • Morality: Practicing morality is a protective shield against suffering.
  • Kalyana Mitta: Having wise and virtuous friends is essential as they provide support, guidance and inspiration.

A big component of the course will also be an opportunity to learn and practice insight meditation, both sitting and walking.

There will also be time for Q&A and may be some feedback on an individual’s meditation practice. Both beginners and experienced participants are welcome. Participants are encouraged to attend all four weeks as each week builds on the last.
