This work is strengthening recognition of the custodianship and stewardship of Indigenous sign languages by Deaf First Nations peoples, while reaffirming our place as the visual-spatial knowledge holders who have shaped, maintained, and continue to lead the future of these languages. The forum will bring together community members, researchers, educators, interpreters, and allies to explore the cultural, linguistic, and social significance of Indigenous sign languages, and to celebrate the leadership of Deaf First Nations peoples in their preservation and revitalisation. We invite you to join us for a day of learning, connection, and shared commitment as we honour our languages, our knowledge, and our communities.Guest speakers will include:Dr Ayab Wehbe | University of NSWZoe Avery | AIATSISLauren Reed | AIATSISKaleesha Morris | First Languages AustraliaJohn T Ward | Author of Indigenous Disability Studies, University of SydneyAttendees will be able to join us in-person or online.MORE DETAILS TO BE ADDED - WATCH THIS SPACE!We look forward to welcoming you to the Fourth Annual Aboriginal Sign Language Forum!
