- **Event Name**: Carihi Musical Theatre: Something Rotten!
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 22 Apr, 2026 at 07:00 pm (-07:00)
- **Event Description**: Welcome to the Renaissance, and get ready for one of the funniest musicals ever written.

Something Rotten! is a wildly clever, laugh-out-loud musical farce set in the 1590s, where brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play, but they’re stuck living in the shadow of the ultimate Renaissance rock star, William Shakespeare. When a soothsayer predicts that the future of theatre will involve singing, dancing, and acting all at the same time, the Bottom brothers race to create the world’s very first musical.

The result is total chaos, ridiculous comedy, show-stopping numbers, and a cast of unforgettable characters.

Created by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick and acclaimed writers Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell, Something Rotten! is packed with energy, heart, and the kind of humour that makes it impossible not to have a good time.

But this show also means something more.

Last year, the Carihi Theatre Program lost their theatre to a fire, and they still don’t have a permanent stage to call home. Despite that, these students have continued to create, rehearse, and put on full productions through pure determination and love for the arts.

We’re honoured to host them once again at the Tidemark Theatre, and we’re asking our community to show up for them in a big way.

• Buy a ticket, bring a friend, and help us fill the house.
• Can’t attend? Consider purchasing tickets to donate, so others can experience the show while supporting this incredible youth program.

Let’s remind these theatre kids that they’re not doing this alone.
