A three-day art festival designed to establish the Frio Canyon as an arts tourism destination.
The 2026 theme, “Legends of the Land,” invites muralists and earth artists to create public artworks inspired by local folklore and heroes, native american heritage, cowboys and ranching culture, land preservation and ecology.
Some artists may collaborate with storytellers and historians to add cultural and historical depth to the works.
TerraTx 2026 will feature a minimum of 10 permanent artworks, with a goal of 16, installed across the canyon and connected by a self-guided art map.  This ensures the festival leaves behind a substantial year-round tourism asset from its first year.
