You'll learn something new in movement, be invited to connect with many different partners, and start to build familiarity, which fosters trust with each other and yourself. The Barn is an unfinished wood floor, so there can be an occasional splinter in a bare foot or tear in a sock - and still, people still choose to do that, sometimes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CLASS: Synchrony & Suspense Sometimes, we arrive at a shared feeling … that this moment was ours. We made this moment together. Invitations were offered and received, and we were with each other through every instant. Our presence was precise. Our pauses, potent. What makes these moments possible? In this class, we’ll play with some of the mechanics and mysteries of togetherness: frame clarity, grounded axis, subtle torsion, attuned invitations, and artful patience. We’ll explore them by dancing with pivots, pauses, and balances. We’ll draw inspiration from Tango, as well as Blues and Zouk. We’re excited to guide explorations for more easeful awareness, dance vocabulary, and embodied communication! Dance soon. (All levels class. Socks or pivot-able dance shoes recommended.) TEACHER: Angela Heyun (Las Vegas) is curious about everything embodiment and improvisation. She creates spaces for moving at the pace of being and feeling, learning in connection, and going into the unknown together. Her key influences are Tango, Zouk, and Contact Improvisation, followed by West Coast Swing, Qi Gong, Contemporary Dance, and Butoh. She primarily teaches Contact Beyond Contact, and is organizing Fusion and Microfusion in Las Vegas. instagram.com/angelaheyun facebook.com/angelaheyun DJ's: Amber Rivera - Amber discovered her passion for DJing back in 2018. She was instantly hooked since day one, and continues to enjoy sharing her music. Amber loves to include a variety of genres in her setlist, and enjoys bringing different vibes into the mix, such as slow/sultry and upbeat/fun. Kenny Smestad - Kenny is a long-time Fusion dancer, grooving to a wide mix of music throughout the years. With a rich collection of classic fusion tracks and some of the latest R&B dance hits, rhythm plays a key role with song selection. He enjoys providing dancers with tunes that offer creativity and fun to encourage them to move across the floor.
