Nello Olivo makes Italian-style wines in the Sierra foothills of El Dorado County, and once a year the family throws him a birthday party on the patio of the Camino tasting room, right on Apple Hill. This is that party, and everyone is invited.WHAT YOUR TICKET INCLUDESA made-to-order double smash burger with chips, pasta salad and watermelon. A glass of Nello Olivo wine, or a Cali Mojo wine slushie. Birthday cake. Two live bands: Ricky Dean Black at noon, then Shauna Lea and Hired Guns at 4. And a look at winemaking in action, with fresh grapes from the family vineyard in Cameron Park and a demonstration of the first steps from grape to wine.THE AFTERNOONSaturday, September 19, 12 to 4 PM. Tables on the patio are first come, first served, so come early and settle in. Wine flights and bottles are available all afternoon, and the 2023 Grapefather, the new release, is on birthday special by the case.
