For those who have traveled the Arctic—or have dreamed of doing so—this event gives witness to panoramic vistas and one-of-a kind spectacles such as a massive glacier calving. 

We’ll also be discussing such diverse topics as sailing the Arctic aboard a three-masted barque, Norway’s efforts
to create a sustainable tourist trade, and what life is like during the seasons of perpetual light and endless dark.

There will be a screening of the British filmmaker Adam Laity’s documentary “A Short Film About Ice.” We will also be holding a drawing for a copy of Cecelia Blomdahl’s best-selling “Life on Svalbard: Finding Home on a Remote Island Near the North Pole.”
