Winter Solstice: a Celebration of the Returning Sun.

This gentle, community-led gathering will include story-telling, creating sun jars, wreath-making, a candle-lit procession, and a warming foraged tea.

Please wrap up warm, bring a blanket, and come and join us by the fire. Together we will celebrate the return of the Sun - honouring the depths of winter whilst welcoming the growing light with gratitude, creativity, and joy.

We know how busy the festive season is for everyone in our society, so we have decided to host our Winter Solstice gathering earlier in December.

All ages are welcome. Come as you are - pause, rest, and find light in the stillness of the season.

Items to bring:

• A glass jar to decorate (big enough for a candle)
• A blanket/warm clothes

Reflection after the event:

All attendees will receive a pack to take away for self-led ritual for Winter Solstice on 21st December.

What do events like this have to do with economic change?

Our relationship with the natural world and the processes of harnessing resources for human needs underpin our economic actions.

For humans to survive, we need to shift towards a regenerative (not extractive) relationship with nature. Rituals like the Winter Solstice, when we pause to reflect that humans are a part of nature, helps to shift our cultural norms in the direction necessary to build a regenerative economy.

The event is part of a nature-based wellbeing programme at Together Culture, designed in collaboration with and delivered by Earth & Mind. Their mission is to promote mental health and wellbeing through green activities. They believe that connecting with nature and community can have a positive impact on mental health, and they aim to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals to engage in these activities.
