Tango Theory Class is a class for people who want to deepen their knowledge of body dynamics applied to tango technique, vocabulary, and musicality. In this class, you will grow your awareness of self, partner, space, and music in a way that will have a lasting impact on your enjoyment of the dance. You will receive personal feedback on how to make small changes that will take your tango to the next level. This class is suitable for people who have completed beginner classes and want to improve the execution of their tango vocabulary.
Week 1 - Two techniques for how to execute large slow ochos
Week 2 - Two techniques for how to execute small fast ochos
Week 3 - Over rotated ochos and how to lead the direction of ochos
Week 4 - Ocho special cases: inverted or “crazy” ochos and ochos soltados
Jessica Zappia
Jessica has been studying tango 2007 in Washington, DC and with teachers in Buenos Aires. Jessica began organizing Pablo's Practica (ongoing) in DC as part of a team starting in 2012, with weekly attendance reaching as many as 80 people. She auditioned for an Argentina-based tango company in 2014, which although unsuccessful, launched her tango career. Jessica began teaching group lessons of up to 30 people and private lessons for individuals and couples. She has an enthusiasm for tango that is contagious.
