This month while Boston Balboa is taking a break they’ve invited us to do Slow Balboa!
Slow Balboa (All Levels)
When the jazz tempos drop, this dance style gives us tools for comfy connection and detailed rhythms. If you have taken slow Balboa before, this class will build on what you already know, refining your technique and giving you new vocabulary. If you are new to it this will introduce you to the basics and beyond.

Instructor:
Ruth Evelyn (they/she) is passionate about jazz dances. These days she is mostly seen on balboa and lindy hop floors, but in the past you may have caught them teaching blues at big festivals around the world.
Ruth fell in love with slow balboa the first time they met it, and has been seen in many slow bal finals at large events, as well as teaching slow bal classes at events such as Northwest Bal Fest, Hot Rhythm Holiday, and Great Lakes Balboa.
Ruth both follows and leads, and is passionate about teaching movement quality, technique, and musicality in a detailed and fun way. When not social dancing, Ruth's time is absorbed with grad school, where she studies mental health therapy, specializing in dance therapy.
