Curious about Raku pottery? This introductory two-week workshop is a great way to experience this exciting and dramatic firing process. Raku is known for its smoky effects, crackle patterns, and metallic finishes—each piece is completely unique and decorative (not food safe).
Taught by Sarah Krajewski and Jacy Eckerman, the first session focuses on handbuilding your piece using techniques like pinch, coil, and slab. In the second session, you’ll glaze your work and take part in the Raku firing itself, learning how the process works from start to finish. Students will leave with a finished piece, hands-on firing experience, and a solid understanding of both basic handbuilding and the fundamentals of Raku glazing and firing.
