Join us for an exciting session uncovering different aspects of pandemic preparedness with Dr Suzannah Rihn, Professor James Thaventhiran, and Professor Ravi Gupta from the Cambridge Institute of Therapeutic Immunology and Infectious Disease (CITIID).
First, join Dr Suzannah Rihn to learn how pandemics start and how we can identify the features that enable cross-species transmission of viruses as well as how to anticipate new threats. Then explore James Thaventhiran’s research on SARS-CoV-2 vaccines, revealing how they can be made more efficient. James will also tell us how factors like obesity and ageing affect immune responses and vaccine effectiveness. Finally, we will delve into Ravi Gupta’s work on virus variants and rapid diagnostics, highlighting strategies for global readiness and policy interventions.
Suitable for a general audience and followed by a panel discussion with the speakers.
