The CAMYOGA Teaching Restorative Yoga qualification is open to qualified yoga teachers. The restorative yoga training course provides comprehensive training in restorative yoga in group and one-to-one situations. The course consists of 6 training days. There are written and practical teaching assignments.

The course takes place over 6 days where you will be part of a small group with a maximum of 14 students.

All the CAMYOGA faculty is formally qualified and experienced in delivering OfQual (government endorsed) qualifications. Our systems are internally verified by qualified verifiers and all coursework is marked and assessed by level 3 qualified assessors. Quality assurance and standardisation procedures are in place to ensure a very high standard of qualification is achieved by all of our students.

We pride ourselves on producing graduates of consistently high quality.


Unit 1 Principles of Practice
• Origin, context, purpose and benefits of restorative yoga
• Essential poses, alignment, energetics, transitions and use of props
• Breath, sensory, somatic and affective integration, sound and silence

Unit 2 Anatomy and Physiology
• Anatomy and physiology of poses
• Nervous system regulation, relationship with other body systems, organ health
• Physiology of stress and relaxation, vagal tone, how to elicit the relaxation response
• Subtle anatomy, navigating the koshas and layers of consciousness

Unit 3 Teaching Skills
• Environmental conditions for restorative yoga
• Working beneficially with specific health conditions, mental and emotional wellbeing
• Observation, adaptations and contraindications
• Intent, settling, sequencing, lesson/workshop planning
• Integration of themes, yoga philosophy and contemporary wisdom teachings
• How to introduce restorative yoga to your community; group and 1:1 teaching
• Ethics, holding space, teacher self-care and cultivation

Payable in advance in full. You may pay the fees via a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the final 50% due minimum one month before the course start date.

About Carol Trevor
A practitioner for 30 years, Carol was first introduced to restorative yoga through the Iyengar method. She is an Advanced Relax and Renew®Trainer, having subsequently trained with and assisted Judith Hanson Lasater. Carol is a long-time meditator and is qualified in yoga nidra and sports massage therapy. She is known for her compassionate presence, content and ability to share insights from the ancient teachings for daily life today. Originally a linguist, she has contributed to yoga teacher training programmes in Cambridge, London and Hertfordshire since 2008.
