The showcase is part of NIHR20, celebrating 20 years of life-changing health and social care from NIHR and the impact that public involvement has had on research in the East of England.Researchers at NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC): Cambridge along with other the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) infrastructures within the East of England: Applied Research Collaboration, BioResource, Regional Research Delivery Network, HealthTech Research Centre in Brain Injury, Clinical Research Facilities from Norwich and Cambridge and Blood and Transplant Research Unit in Donor Health and other BRC colleagues Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, Institute of Metabolic Science - Metabolic Research Laboratories and the Clinical School of Medicine, University of Cambridge are hosting a joint showcase of patient and public involvement (PPI) in health research across the East of England.NIHR has championed a system where people, communities and professionals shape outcomes. We are pioneers in patient and public involvement (PPI), ensuring that people from all backgrounds and communities actively shape research agendas and priorities.The showcase will have live talks, and a poster-and-networking session with light lunch and refreshments.Listen to researchers talk about their work and browse their posters - and find out how patient and public involvement is crucial to their work.If you are interested in finding out more about health research and how the public has helped make a difference to research, this event is for you. Network with researchers and the public highlighting the valuable work that is going on in the community.Getting to the VenueHow to get to the What3words for the venue: ///level.people.mapleThere is no on-site parking for the venue, and limited paid parking on the Addenbrooke's campus, we would advise attendees to use public transport or the park and ride services, particularly if you are with us for the whole event from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.By Bus and Park and RidesCambridge Biomedical Campus is well connected from the city and nearby villages by bus. There are lots of buses to the campus (Buses A, D and U stop close to the venue on Puddicombe Way).Park and Ride sites at Trumpington and Babraham are free to park and a short journey on the bus. Getting to CUH details including public transport.By carThe closest parking to the venue is Car Park one (charges apply)- ///club.moons.snapAccessibility informationThe venue has full disabled access and facilities. We are on the ground floor, it is step free access on the same level with a disabled toilet. The seminar room, where the talks take place is fitted with an induction loop to assist those with a hearing impairment.Short-stay disabled car parking spacesBlue Badge holders can park for free in the on-road disabled car parking spaces for a maximum of four hours. Please ensure you display your time clock and abide by the car parking rules.Long-stay disabled car parking spacesBlue Badge holders parking for more than four hours should use the long-stay disabled spaces available in car parks 1 and 2.
