Or perhaps you sewed a long time ago and need a refresher? Come to this workshop and learn to use a sewing machine by bringing your own or renting ours!Topics we will cover include:How to thread your machineAdjusting for the correct tension for the fabricWhat's a bobbin and how to wind it correctlyReplacing a bobbinWhen and how to change the FootWhen and how to change the NeedleTroubleshooting and maintenanceExploring various stitchesAs practice, we will sew some simple projects such as coasters and placemats! Fabric is not included but is available for purchase in-store. Please bring:Your sewing machine and foot pedalThe manual, if you have one. If not, that's ok.Any attachments that came with your machine, such as zipper foot, spare needlesThread ('All Purpose' is fine). Do not use Quilting threadOptional: Small piece of cotton fabric (half a yard) to practice stitches. Please make sure your fabric is not stretchy, knit or jersey.Each ticket is valid for one attendee only, and we’re not able to offer a guest option for this workshop. Please note that a minimum of two attendees is required for the workshop to run. In the rare case that no one else is registered a few days before the scheduled start time, we’ll reach out to let you know. If the workshop is cancelled, your ticket can be refunded or rescheduled—whichever you prefer.
