A leading cognitive neuroscientist and clinical psychologist, Professor Dalgleish focuses his research on improving how we understand and treat mood, anxiety and stress-related disorders. His work bridges science and practice, translating research discoveries into practical tools and therapies that support the wellbeing of children, young people and adults. He previously led the Cognition, Emotion and Mental Health Programme at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, and directed the Cambridge Clinical Research Centre for Affective Disorders (C2:AD), a partnership between the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, and the University of Cambridge. Professor Dalgleish will be in conversation with Dr Clara Faria, NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge. Dr Faria’s research explores eating difficulties and disorders in young people, focusing on early identification and intervention. The festival will primarily be digital in 2021 – to enable wide-reaching engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic. \r\rThere will still be strong and distinct platforms for the Sciences and the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. And the new Festival will include a uniquely Cambridge eclectic mixture of over 350 events and activities: from panel discussions, film premieres, and self-guided walking tours, to ‘try this at home’ activities for the whole family. Topics cover the breadth of Cambridge research and will be presented across the Festival’s four themes: Society, Health, Environment and Explore!"
